Ruvitex C18 Fleece back adhesive

C18 adhesive, used to bond Ruviplan V PLUS membrane is a self-curing adhesive which develops full properties upon evaporation of the solvent phase. It is a high-performance product designed for applications requiring both high shear resistance and good perfor-

mance at elevated temperatures up to (130°C.) In addition to its cohesive strength, RC18a adhesive exhibits good adhesion to a variety of substrates including tissue faced polyurethane insulation, plywood/OSB and timber.

Resistance to environment

C18 adhesive film is resistant to the effects of both UV light and common PVC plasticizers. The dry film does not discolour on ageing and exposure to ultraviolet light.

C18 adhesive is suggested for applications requiring high temperature peel and shear resistance and where good plasticizer resistance is required. For roofing applications it is recommended that bonding should only take place if the temperature exceeds + 6°C and that the deck substrate is clean and dry. After applying the adhesive by roller or brush you should allow approximately 10 –20mins,

before rolling out the fleeced membrane, in order not to trap solvents and cause blistering.

When the membrane is in place apply even pressure across the bonded area to ensure full contact of membrane to the adhesive film. This product is highly flammable. Keep away from sources of ignition. Avoid prolonged or repeated breathing of vapour. Use with adequate ventilation. Avoid excessive contact with the skin during use. Wear solvent resistant gloves and eye protection.

Storage Keep away from heat, sparks and flame. Keep container closed. Environmental and waste issues

Solvent based residues should be disposed of as hazardous waste
